·Although Vitamin K is good for blood clotting and bone development, it may interfere with some medications so we decided not to include it.

·Iron is a pro-oxidant. People with the highest iron levels seem to have higher risk for heart disease and cancer. Iron also may shorten the shelf-life of a multiple by reacting with the other nutrients and oxidizing them, so we decided not to include it.

·Phosphorous levels are excessive in the American diet so they are not needed and may even have negative effects.

·Copper may interfere with Zinc absorption. Copper is also a pro-oxidant and may oxidize other nutrients in the multiple rendering them useless. Most American homes have copper pipes, which add copper through water use.

·Lutien and Lycopene are valuable additions to any diet however adding them to Methuselah would double the price. Necessary effective amounts are twenty to thirty times the amounts available in "one-size-fits-all" commercial vitamins.
